STEM-Econ: The Incorporation of Economic Concepts into the STEM Projects
The interactions between science and society can be observed through social, cultural, and economic changes occurring at a rapid pace in society. Economics is a way to demonstrate how science interacts with society. The importance of integration of economics into science curriculum as one of the disciplines in social and behavioral sciences is emphasized for an informed 21st century citizen in the national standards. When engineering is involved in the integration of science, technology and mathematics some concepts related to economics are expected to be understood by students. This presentation features some activities for STEM teachers to use economic concepts in their project-based studies.
