Physics without Fear
Does teaching physical science make you uncomfortable? For many K-8 teachers and students, physical science content can sometimes feel intimidating. In this hands-on workshop, we will share some simple, research-based instructional strategies for helping students (and teachers) in grades K-8 build a solid conceptual understanding of motion and forces.

Using Fossils to Reconstruct Ancient Environments
In this interactive presentation, participants, acting like paleontologists, use Ohio fossils to learn about past conditions and the geologic time scale. The session uses the 5E learning cycle model and integrates earth science content, scientific practices, and literacy standards.

Flipping, Notebooks, and Centers...oh my!
Using technology, flipping, interactive notebooks, and learning centers all students can be motivated in the learning science regardless of their ability levels. Using all of these strategies flow smoothly together creating a very interactive and engaging environment in which all students learn.
