Trying to get students engaged and helping them to understand concepts can be difficult. This is a hands-on session with ideas using candy in experiments to grab students' attention and keep them interested! Several will be demonstrated during the session and others added to the handout given during the session.

Conceptual Chemistry: Repurposed Materials for Low-cost Science Experiments
Recent literature reports of novel experiments using ordinary materials were adapted for use in the Improving Teacher Quality Program: Conceptual Chemistry for Teachers of Grades 4-12.
