Dr. Fenk is Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Kent State University. He has worked for KSU for more than 24 years. His principle research interests include synthetic organic chemistry methods and chemistry education. Dr. Fenk is co-principle investigator of the highly successful Improving Teacher Quality Program, Conceptual Chemistry for Teachers of Grades 4-9. Conceptual Chemistry is a professional development program funded by the Ohio Board of Regents and is intended to assist in-service middle school teachers as they prepare to teach chemistry concepts to middle school students. Participating teachers earn 5-graduate credit hours and acquire more than $850 worth of free materials and supplies. Seats in this program are limited and interested teachers should apply early.
